JIA 2025_edited_edited.jpg

(B.A. Psychological and Behavioural Sciences (Hons., UWA), BSc Neuroscience)

Prior to entering the world of psychology and neuroscience, Jia has a background in media where she worked closely with organizations taking care of marginalized people groups in Asia. Taking complex ideas and making them accessible is a key skill she has transferred from working in media to science communication in the world of psychological and mental health.

Apart from academic qualifications, Jia has a lived experience of being a parent to her AuDHD children, as well as her own neurodivergent journey.

She is currently a Psychology honours student at UWA in an affective science lab, and Parent Educator at SmartPaeds to help other parents navigate their ADHD/Autism journey, where she runs ADHD Connect talks that communicates the psychology of executive functions, neurobiology behind neurodivergence and more. The work she does is an ardent response to  calls to fill gaps in multimodal, holistic care for families with ADHD and autism.
